Washington DC and Cherry Blossoms

Every spring, Washington, D.C. comes alive with the breathtaking beauty of cherry blossoms. These delicate pink and white flowers blanket the city’s landscape, creating a stunning sight that attracts visitors from around the world. The cherry blossoms, also known as sakura, symbolize renewal and the fleeting nature of life in Japanese culture. Thousands of cherry trees were gifted to Washington, D.C. by the Mayor of Tokyo in 1912 as a gesture of friendship between Japan and the United States, and they have since become a beloved tradition.

The peak bloom of the cherry blossoms typically occurs in late March to early April, depending on weather conditions. During this time, the National Cherry Blossom Festival takes place, featuring various events and activities celebrating Japanese culture and the beauty of the blossoms. Visitors can stroll along the Tidal Basin, where many of the cherry trees are located, or participate in events such as the Blossom Kite Festival or the Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival. I am always on the lookout for a good floral border. They’re perfect for edges. This one wraps around an entire 12×12 inch 300dpi scrapbook page. With a transparent png center, it can frame words for invites, pictures, or keepsakes. For the preview I chose a dark gray. You can fiddle with different colors. I think it would look good against a sage green, light tan, cream, or even white background. It looks fabulous against a pure black. Check out our directories for more flowers and floral borders.

Now that I’m old I realize nothing is too garish if there is white between it. In fact, white saves a whole lot of things. This is not my favorite but we will keep it up because somebody will be searching for it. Chicken wire clipart is more popular than it should be.

As I was doing some last minute shopping in crowded stores last week, everyone looked so tired as they were shelling out their money for the season. I found myself asking, “What’s this season all about anyway?” But as I looked around at the candy canes (the shepherd’s crook), the wreathes (eternal love), the bows (bonds of brotherly love), the bells (ringing to bring lost sheep home), and the Santas… so many Santas… well, I remembered WHO the season was all about and why it made me so happy and glad.

I hope tomorrow is a lovely Christmas for you! I created Santas with ai help… and my help. Oh, my goodness, could I tell you some ai stories on this one. Yay Photoshop!

What does Santa have to do with anything?

*He wears red. (Isaiah 63:2)
*His hair is white (Rev 1:14)
*He comes in the night (1 Thessalonians 5:2)
*He loves little children (Matthew 19:14)
*He knows we are good (1 Timothy 2:3,4)
*He brings gifts (James 1:17)
The holly is a thorny crown.
The candles and Christmas lights are His light.
The evergreen tree, that is lush even in winter, is everlasting life, secured by Him, pointing heavenward to Him.
The red is for His Sacrifice.
The star is a reminder of Bethlehem and the light of the world.

So, yes, this granny still believes in Santa Claus and who he reminds me of, my Savior, Lord, and King, even Jesus Christ.
